Derived from a Sanskrit root meaning to call\, recite\, praise\, or glorify\, put simply\, kirtan is the act of praising and glorifying some form of divinity including the Divine found in yourself. Because music is particularly potent as a vehicle of conveying one’s emotions\, music is especially effective at evoking feelings of Love and Higher Consciousness. Kirtan is therefore viewed as exceptionally powerful when practiced through singing together\, as one voice. \n*Just a friendly reminder as we’re moving into winter months and chanting indoors in small spaces- to please stay home if you aren’t feeling well\, have any symptoms of illness or if you’ve been recently exposed to covid or other illnesses. Come for kirtan or potluck or both! \nPolestar Wednesdays are sweet for the whole family. Childcare available from 6-7PM if desired. See you soon. \nWHAT IS KIRTAN? Derived from a Sanskrit root meaning to call\, recite\, praise\, or glorify\, put simply\, kirtan is the act of praising and glorifying some form of divinity including the Divine found in yourself. Because music is particularly potent as a vehicle of conveying one’s emotions\, music is especially effective at evoking feelings of Love and Higher Consciousness. Kirtan is therefore viewed as exceptionally powerful when practiced through singing together\, as one voice. \n*Just a friendly reminder as we’re moving into winter months and chanting indoors in small spaces- to please stay home if you aren’t feeling well\, have any symptoms of illness or if you’ve been recently exposed to covid or other illnesses. DESCRIPTION:Resurrect yourSelf with… \nEaster Sunrise Meditation! \nOn Sunday morning\, meet at the upper parking lot of Dixon Reservoir just before 6AM. We will walk 3/10s of a mile up the ‘Viewpoint Spur’ trail (just off to the right of the upper parking lot) to the overlook and chant and meditate there for about an hour. It will be chilly (especially before the sun comes up at 6:45) so dress warmly\, and bring something to sit on. (There are a few benches there as well.) Hope you will join us!
